Pizzert Dessert Pizza

Chocolate and Bavarian Cream Pizzert

I don’t know if you have ever had a pizzert or dessert pizza – we used to get them ALL the time at the local Pizza Inn. Due to some sanitary issues at the location, we stopped going but still crave the occasional dessert pizza. Our fav – chocolate and Bavarian cream mixed! Sadly, we could not find a recipe anywhere so we experimented to create our own.

You need:

Pizza crust

Yellow or butter cake mix

2 sticks of butter

Instant pudding – 4 serving size – Chocolate and vanilla (or french vanilla)

4 cups cold milk

(Greg had bought some Bavarian custard from Amazon, so we did not use the vanilla pudding)

Cake Batter

Melt two sticks of butter and add to the cake mix. Stir or whisk until blended and set aside for now.

Mix chocolate pudding with 2 cups of cold milk. Whisk for about 2 minutes until thickened and place in fridge until later. If you are using the vanilla pudding, repeat these instructions in a different bowl.

(The cream he ordered – quite yummy)

If you use the pre-made crust like we did, open it and place on the pan. We did not brush with oil per the instructions, not sure if that is a needed step. So if you do or know if it is, clue us in.

Add about 1/3rd of your cake mix to the pizza crust and place in a preheated 425 degree oven for about 5 minutes. You want it a bit bubbly and yummy looking.

If you are crazy like Greg, add about a third of the pudding to a bag, cut a hole in one corner and make swirls around on top of the cooked cake mix. Otherwise just be like a normal person and spoon some on.

Using the back of a spoon, spatula or knife, gently smoosh (technical term) the pudding around until it looks really good.

Back to the oven for about another 5 minutes, pudding will skim a bit and be nice and steamy.

Slice and enjoy the oh so yummy-licious goodness!!

Indulge yourself today!
